The Federal TRiO Programs (TRiO) are outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Funded by grants from the U.S. Department of Education, these programs provide advising, academic instruction, career exploration and other support services in order to assist them in achieving their educational goals and obtaining a college degree.

TRIO includes eight different programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs.

Normandale offers assistance through two TRiO programs: Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search.
